This morning I woke up at 228lbs, only a pound less than my last check in. The last couple of weeks I’ve been feeling a lot more bloated and like I wasn’t progressing at the right pace, but after seeing my coach this week we think we’ve identified the the problem. My sodium intake has been very high these last two months and I haven’t been drinking the appropriate amount of water to match it. My coach said my fat is coming down but my body is holding a ton of water. The plan now is to cut sodium as much as I can and to greatly up my water intake, although I’ll have to work around the big thanksgiving meal! After just a day and a half of cutting sodium I can already feel the bloat decreasing and I feel a little leaner again.
This cut also seems to be more of a recomp because I feel like my muscles are still growing with the slightly higher calories. I would be very happy getting the best of both words (leaning out and gaining muscle) so we will see where this continues to take me! My work outs have been awesome lately and 30 minutes of HIIT cardio daily is going well too. I’m off from the gym for a few days because of a family vacation to Yosemite, but the meals are still tasting great and I brought them with me! This will be a nice rest for my body but I’m looking forward to getting back to it!
